Our youth course is based on individualized teaching respecting the learning speeds of all. A book of achievements helps to track the progress of each child.

For children aged 3 to 7, we offer a Parent-Child activity on Saturday morning in collaboration with Sherbrooke Loisirs-Action. Check their website for registration.

Thonsai

Ages 7-10

For younger children, this group aims first and foremost the discovery of climbing through the games. The objective is to overcome their fears, develop some climbing techniques, learn thesafety and belaying maneuvers, and the pleasure of climbing! No experience required.

Bugaboos

Ages 7-10

This course is for young people who have already taken a climbing course and want to discover the sport in all its facets. The child will develop motor skills and climbing techniques, as well as being introduced to top rope climbing maneuvers. Can be repeated several times.

This course is for young people who have already taken a course (Thonsai, Bugaboos, Day Camp or Gimlis). It aims to perfect the climbing techniques, get the accreditation for top rope climbing for those who do not already have it and start climbing training. On the program, climbing techniques, movement dynamics, development of endurance, top rope, boulder climbing and route planning. Can be repeated several times.

DETAILS

  • 3 hours of climbing per day minimum
  • Use of climbing material, communication and safety
  • Introduction to safety practices and belay
  • Depending on the level: Learning to climb independently
  • Practice comfortability with heights
  • Learning basic climbing techniques: movements, hand and feet placements, different walls
  • Reading the routes, energy management, physical development
  • Initiation to ascending and descending on the ropes
  • Tarzan rope
  • Other activities: Cooperative games, hikes, aquatic activities, biking, creative activities, karate, etc.
